Community guidelines

Friendscape is for making plans with people you want to spend time with. These are the rules that keep it that way.

What is not allowed

• Harassment. Targeting, threatening, bullying or following someone around the app.
• Hate. Attacking people for their race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation or age.
• Anything involving a minor sexually. Zero tolerance, immediate termination, and we report it to the authorities and to NCMEC.
• Sexually explicit content, gratuitous violence, or gore.
• Impersonation. Pretending to be another person, business, team or organisation.
• Scams and fake plans. Events that do not exist, tickets you cannot deliver, or anything designed to take people's money.
• Dangerous or illegal plans. Organising anything illegal, or anything that puts other users at risk.
• Other people's private information. Someone's address, phone number or whereabouts is theirs to share, not yours.
• Spam. Mass invites, repetitive posting, or using someone's plan to advertise at them.

How we enforce it

We will be straight with you about how this works, because a small team pretending to have a large one is how people get let down.

• Reports come to us and we read them. Every post, comment and message carries a report control. Reports are reviewed by the people who build the app, not by an automated queue.
• Blocking is immediate and yours to use. You do not need our permission and we do not tell the other person.
• Moderation is currently reactive. We review what is reported rather than scanning everything automatically. We would rather tell you that than imply a filter we have not built. Reports involving a minor, a credible threat, or immediate danger are handled first, ahead of everything else.
• Consequences scale. Usually removal and a warning. For anything in the zero tolerance list, the account goes immediately.

Meeting people in real life

Friendscape can put you in a plan with someone a friend knows rather than someone you know. Some sense applies:

• Meet somewhere public the first time.
• Tell someone where you are going. The plan itself is a good way to do that.
• You are never obliged to share your phone number, your address, or your exact location.
• If someone makes you uncomfortable, leave. Then block and report them, in that order.

For organisations and teams

An organisation account speaks to real people, sometimes a lot of them, and the bar is higher. Post accurate schedules, honour what you advertise, and keep announcements to things attendees need. Rosters for youth teams identify players by jersey number only, and we will remove any attempt to add children's names, photos or contact details.

If we get it wrong

Email support@friendscape.app and a person will look at your case again. We would rather reverse a bad decision than defend it.

Reporting

Use the report control in the app, or email support@friendscape.app. Put "URGENT" in the subject for anything involving a minor, a threat, or someone's safety. If somebody is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first.
