0. Who you are agreeing with
Friendscape is operated by Friendscape LLC, a Delaware limited liability company. "We", "us" and "Friendscape" mean that entity throughout.
1. Agreeing to these terms
By creating an account or using Friendscape you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app. You must be at least 13 years old, and if you are under 18 you need a parent or guardian's permission.
2. Your account
Keep your login details to yourself and tell us if someone else gets into your account. You are responsible for what happens under it. Give us accurate information; a phone number is required so that friends can find you and so we can secure the account.
3. Your content stays yours
Everything you put into Friendscape, your posts, photos, itineraries, guides and messages, remains yours. You give us the permission we need to run the service: to store it, show it to the people you shared it with, and display it where you have chosen to make it public. That permission ends when you delete the content, except where someone else has already copied a public guide, which they keep.
4. What you may not do
We have no tolerance for any of the following, and we will remove content and terminate accounts for it, without notice where the situation warrants:
- Harassing, threatening, bullying or stalking anyone.
- Hate speech or attacks on people for who they are.
- Sexual content involving minors, or any sexualisation of a minor. We report this to the authorities.
- Sexually explicit content, gratuitous violence, or content designed to shock.
- Impersonating another person, business or organisation.
- Spam, scams, pyramid schemes, fake events, or any attempt to defraud other users.
- Promoting illegal activity, or organising anything that would put other users in danger.
- Posting someone else's private information, or anything you do not have the right to share.
- Scraping, reverse engineering, or trying to get at data belonging to plans you were not invited to.
If you see any of it, use the report control on the post, comment or message. Reports go to us and we read them. You can also email support@friendscape.app.
5. Other people's plans and other people's money
Friendscape helps a group organise itself. It does not run your trip. We are not a travel agent, tour operator, ticket seller or payment processor, and we are not a party to anything you arrange with each other or with a business you find through the app.
Where the app splits a cost, it is doing arithmetic on numbers you entered and telling you who owes who. We never hold, move or process money. Settling up happens between you, however you already do that. Currency conversions are indicative and use a rate captured on the day the cost was logged.
6. Things we show you from other companies
Events, activities, venues and photos may come from third parties such as Ticketmaster, Viator, Pixabay, Unsplash and Giphy. We pass their information through as they publish it. Availability, prices and details are theirs, not ours, and buying anything from them is a transaction with them under their terms. Some of those links may earn us a commission; it does not change what you pay.
7. Businesses and partners
If you use Friendscape to promote a business, everything you publish must be accurate, must be something you are lawfully entitled to sell, and must be honoured as described. We may remove a partner or a campaign at any time, and we will do so promptly for anything misleading.
8. Beta software
Friendscape is currently a beta distributed through TestFlight. It will have bugs, features will change, and things may break. Do not rely on it as the only record of anything that matters, such as a flight time or a booking reference.
9. Ending things
You can stop using Friendscape and delete your account whenever you like; see Support. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaks these terms, or that puts other users at risk. If we do that to you and you think we got it wrong, email us and a person will look at it.
10. No warranty
Friendscape is provided as is. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted, error free, or that it will suit a particular purpose. We do promise to try, and to be honest with you when something has gone wrong.
11. Limits on our liability
To the extent the law allows, Friendscape is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, for anything that happens on a trip or at an event, or for the acts of other users or third parties. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
12. Changes to these terms
If we change these materially we will tell you in the app before the change takes effect. Continuing to use Friendscape after that means you accept the new version.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Nothing in this section removes a consumer protection you have where you live.
